Pagodas reveal the true culture and beliefs of the Burmese people. Although parts of the city and have been modernized, the holy place are still used by the devotees of regular religious rites. Sule Pagoda - Sule Pagoda in downtown Yangon. At the center in which contemporary Burmese politics, geography and philosophy originated in Burma. It is believed to have settled over 2,500 years. Maha Wizaya Pagoda - Maha Wizaya was built in 1980, situated on the hill Dhammarakkhita, Tour Chùa Hương also called The Guardian of the hill of the law. Shwedagon (Golden Pagoda) - The temple has a height of 321.5 meters and is located on the west side of Lake Kandawgyi, below the hill Singuttara. The spire of the holy place has thick layers of gold and has rubies, diamonds and precious stones that make it a place well known. It has a beautiful light effect as if the Buddha still lives there. World Peace Pagoda - It is a Buddhist stupa was built to provide people of all races a place to join in the search for world peace. There are other monasteries in the world that have the same design as the World Peace temple in Yangon. It is also the venue of Buddhist monks during ceremonies for world peace.
